It All Begins With Preparation

With any project, preparation is the most important part. Before beginning your tiling project, make sure that you have all of your tools and supplies gathered. The most important supplies you will need for this project are:

  • A wet saw or manual tile cutter
  • Tape measure
  • Grout
  • Bucket Trowel
  • Notched Trowel
  • Grout Float
  • Sponge

Stay Symmetrical

Keeping your design symmetrical and repetitive will be the most pleasing to the eye. Unsymmetrical designs can cause us to search around for the imbalance, taking away from the beauty of your tiling job.

Use Tile Spacers

Want extra precision? Use tile spacers! This handy tool will help to keep all of your tiles in place and keep them evenly space so there's no second guessing.

It's All in the Grout

Grout can be used as a way to add some style to your tile. If you're going for a bolder design, choose a darker grout to make your lighter tiles pop. Want things to blend in? Opt for a grout color that is similar to your tiles.

Arrange Before Installing

Instead of diving right into placing your tiles, arrange them first. By doing this, you will be able to test  different layouts to find out what works best for your home as well as make sure things will fit properly.

Measure Twice, Cut Once

Don't waste any precious supplies. While measuring can be tedious, double checking your measurements will prevent costly mistakes. This will also save you time from having to recut tile to get the perfect fit!
