Simple Ways to Improve Your Curb Appeal

Is the outside of your house looking a bit tired and dated? Use these simple tricks to increase your curb appeal and make it feel more homey.

  • Updating old light fixtures around the outside of your home can immediately bring new life to your home. Sometimes they just need washing while others may need replacing. If you own an older home this is a good time to look at the electrical as well.
  • Adding a pop of color with accent paint or brightly colored patio furniture gives you a more welcoming entrance way.
  • Try adding inexpensive hardware to your garage door to give it a face lift.
  • Window boxes or large planters are easy to change seasonally if needed and leave your home looking a bit more put together
  • Hide any AC units or garbage cans behind a privacy screen
  • Paint or stain your deck or stairs
  • The lawn is often the first impression people have of your home.Remove weeds, unsightly bushes and trim overgrown trees.
  • Add landscape lighting along walkways, twinkle lights on the porch or solar lights to your garden bed to create a magical glow after the sun has gone down
  • Paint or stain any border fencing. A white picket fence can give the illusion of a larger yard.
