Refrigerator

  • Remove drawers and shelves
  • Organize food
  • Discard empty or expired products

Create Your Own Food-Safe Cleaner

Mix together equal parts vinegar and water to safely clean your refrigerator.

Oven

  • Remove baking racks from the oven to clean separately
  • Mix together 1/2 cup baking soda with about 3 tablespoons of water to create a paste
  • Spread paste on the inside of the oven, avoiding any heating elements
  • Let the mixture sit for 12 hours
  • Wipe mixture off with a damp cloth
  • Spray oven with white vinegar to remove any remaining mixture

Stovetop

  • Spray white vinegar over stovetop
  • Sprinkle baking soda on top of white vinegar
  • Cover the stovetop with a damp, hot towel for about 10 minutes
  • Wipe surface and scrub any residual stains away

Dishwasher

  • Empty out your dishwasher
  • Fill a dishwasher-safe cup with vinegar
  • Place on top rack of empty dishwasher
  • Select the longest and hottest cycle
  • Vinegar works to both sanitize and loosen food and soap scum that is stuck in the dishwasher

Microwave

  • Place an uncovered, microwave-safe bowl filled with water into microwave
  • Heat until water boils
  • Wipe away loosened food and grease loosened from the steam
